We’re an odd bird.
Outlier startups are predetermined by the urgency and focus of their first 10 people, in the first ~800 days.
The trough of sorrow is a brutal quagmire of uncertainty, loneliness, crumbling assumptions, false summits and painful resets. There are no shortcuts here, and we believe brute force is the fastest way through.
Brickyard is about pulling the anchor for a place where there is only one thing to do, and locking-in alongside other selective teams who came on the same mission.
We are not an accelerator. We’re a venture firm with a private facility for our portcos to build in. We have no demo day, programming, or even standing meetings.
We invest $300-$500k in 10-12 technical teams/year at pre-seed and seed (usually $750k-$1.5m rounds).
The buy-in: move here and go heads down until a minimum of $1m in run rate.
Average stay is 2 years, but there is no official cutoff.
~20 teams build here at a time, at no cost for those who get in.
Everyone travels for work but Brickyard is not part time.
We invest in top companies from all over the U.S. and abroad.
We have nothing to do w/ economic development + zero expectation to HQ here.
Our founders run this place. Brickyard partners are just useful accessories.
We don’t make sense for everyone, and that’s ok.
Please read through our FAQs. If it feels right, submit your deck. We’ll reach out if we’re interested in what you’re building.
